Quick setup steps and answers about work status, Gulf schedules, holidays, the assistant, and weather in Zonely.
Getting started
- Set your home zone. Choose the time zone you work from. Offsets and availability are shown relative to home so you can scan who is likely working without mental math.
- Add locations. Add coworkers, offices, or cities you coordinate with. Set custom work hours and work days for each zone. You can add locations manually or use the on-device assistant (type or speak).
- Add widgets. Add Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets to see local time, offset from home, day/night, and work status at a glance. Core clock and status work offline.
- Pin to the Dynamic Island (optional). Pin one location as a Live Activity so a key zone stays visible in the Dynamic Island while you use other apps.
Frequently asked questions
Does work status mean someone is online right now?
No. Working now, Before work, After work, Weekend, and On holiday reflect the schedules and holidays you configure — not live presence, calendar access, or GPS. They help you guess likely availability before you ping, not whether someone is at their desk.
How do Sunday–Thursday work weeks work?
Zonely treats Gulf and MENA schedules as first-class: you can set Sunday–Thursday as the work week for a location, not only Monday–Friday. Pair that with custom work hours per zone.
How do holidays work?
Add regional holidays with country presets or enter dates manually. When a tracked location is on holiday, status shows On holiday alongside local time and offset from home.
Do I need Apple Intelligence to add locations?
No. The on-device assistant can parse natural-language requests such as “add Dubai office” on supported devices with Apple Intelligence. Manual add always works — you do not need Apple Intelligence to use Zonely.
Why does weather need the network? Does it use my GPS?
Decorative weather is optional and needs a network connection to refresh. Zonely does not use Core Location or GPS. Weather coordinates come from a built-in time-zone → city table for the zones you added — approximate lat/lon for that city, not your current location. Cached weather is kept locally when offline or if a request fails.
