No accountNo adsNo analyticsNo cloud syncData stays on your iPhone
Zonely is designed so your timezone and availability data stays on your device. This policy describes what information the app stores locally, what (if anything) leaves your iPhone, and what we do not collect. We do not operate user accounts, cloud sync, or developer analytics.
On-device storage
Zonely stores data on your iPhone in local storage shared with the Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets. This includes:
- Home and tracked locations: labels, cities, countries, IANA time zones, work hours and work days, holidays, and widget preferences
- 12/24-hour clock and appearance settings
- Cached weather snapshots keyed by time zone
- Assistant session UI state held in memory during use — not synced to a Zonely server
Uninstalling Zonely removes this locally stored data from your device.
No accounts, backend, or developer analytics
Zonely does not offer login, cloud sync, or team sharing operated by us. We do not run our own backend for your location or schedule data.
The app does not include third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs. We do not collect usage data for marketing or product analytics.
Location and GPS
Zonely does not use Core Location or GPS. Weather coordinates come from a built-in time-zone → city table for the tracked zones you add — not from your current physical location.
Microphone and speech
If you opt into voice input in the on-device assistant, Zonely uses Apple's on-device speech stack. Microphone access is requested only when you choose voice input. Speech is not sent to a Zonely server.
Apple Intelligence and Foundation Models
On supported devices, you may optionally use Apple Intelligence / Foundation Models to parse natural-language requests such as “add this location.” Processing happens on device. You can always add locations manually without Apple Intelligence. Parsed requests are not sent to a Zonely server.
Network use
The only third-party network transmission in Zonely is optional decorative weather. When enabled and online, the app requests weather from Open-Meteo at api.open-meteo.com. Open-Meteo receives approximate latitude and longitude derived from your tracked time zones (via the built-in city table), not GPS. Requests do not include a user ID or Zonely API key. If a request fails, the app falls back to locally cached weather for roughly the last 15 minutes.
Widgets and Live Activity
Home Screen widgets, Lock Screen widgets, and optional pinned Live Activity read the same local App Group snapshot on your device. Live Activity uses Apple's ActivityKit on device. Widget and Live Activity data is not sent to Zonely.
Work status disclaimer
Working now, Before work, After work, Weekend, and On holiday statuses are inferred from schedules and holidays you configure — not from real-time presence, calendar access, or live location. They indicate likely availability, not whether someone is actually at their desk.
